Docherty has over 40 patents to his name, a Media Industry Lifetime Achievement Award, Royal Television Society Inspiring Technologist Award, graduated with honours in Computer Science and Microprocessor Systems, has an MBA with Distinction from the University of Strathclyde Business School, and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
