NPAW (NICE PEOPLE AT WORK), a global leader in video business intelligence and predictive analytics and Simplestream, the leaders in live and on-demand OTT services, today announced that Simplestream has chosen NPAW as its data analytics technology provider for its VOD-in-a-Box service and its bespoke OTT projects.
The first Simplestream customers to have access to data analytics from NPAW are those using the VOD-in-a-Box platform, for whom the analytics went live in April 2018. The initial deployment was of YOUBORA by NPAW, with the additional modules SmartTracking: detailed user experience metrics and SmartReports: precisely segmented data exports, being made immediately available. Simplestream plans to launch additional features in 2018 such as SmartUsers: for churn prediction, customer behaviour and segmentation, as well as SmartSwitch, which automatically switches between CDNs to improve end user QoE.
“After an intensive evaluation process, we have chosen NPAW as our data analytics partner,” said Lewis Arthur, COO, Simplestream. “As we and our customers mature we are often able to provide cutting edge functionality by partnering with a best of breed technology provider. For data analytics the power and flexibility made NPAW the best choice for Simplestream and its clients. In particular its unlimited filtering and segmenting of data was a key YOUBORA differentiator.”
“The crux of this partnership is to give our customers more data on how their end users consume content. What works, what doesn’t work – what type of content is resonating with my userbase and where are they? The interface is designed to be useful for a range of skill sets, from marketing who can use the segmentation tools, technical teams who can monitor the quality and ‘happiness’ of each individual video view, to the C-level daily email reports for senior management. I’m looking forward to our bespoke and our VOD-in-a-Box customers getting access to market leading, insightful analytics from which they can derive real value!”
Simplestream’s VOD-in-a-Box is an award-winning end-to-end, white label product that enables the rapid launch of next-generation TV Everywhere services across multiple screens and territories. Customers are able to customise the look and feel of each VOD-in-a-Box to ensure its both on brand and meets their individual business needs. VOD-in-a-Box was most recently awarded a NewBay Media Best of Show Award at NAB 2018. Simplestream is demonstrating the technology behind VOD-in-a-Box and its complete end-to-end service portfolio at TV Connect 2018, May 9-10, Olympia, London.
“YOUBORA will enable Simplestream customers to improve QoE, identify churn candidates and make smarter marketing and content acquisition decisions; all of which are key drivers in OTT video success,” said Victor Carbonell, CRO and Head of Partnerships of NPAW. “I look forward to enabling Simplestream customers to make the most of our category defining data analytics to stay ahead in the increasingly competitive OTT video space.”
