What is Brightcove PLAY?

Brightcove PLAY is a global gathering of Brightcove customers, partners, and industry leaders at the forefront of the digital media industry. Kicking off on June 25th, hundreds of media companies, marketers and developers from around the world will meet in Boston for three action-packed days of hands-on learning, in-depth strategy sessions, product demos, keynotes, and networking.

Who is speaking?

PLAY has an impressive speaker line-up including industry luminaries such as Facebook board member Jim Breyer, former TechCrunch editor Erick Schonfeld and Brightcove CEO Jeremy Allaire - all of whom will be discussing the transformation of news, entertainment, and marketing content across multiple devices in a 'fireside chat' styled session on June 25th. Other high-calibre speakers include representatives from Adobe, Akamai, AMC Networks, Boston Globe, Google, IBM, Major League Gaming, STV, plus many more.

How will delegates benefit from attending?

PLAY 2012 presents a unique opportunity to learn from fellow Brightcove users, and to gain insight from both Brightcove subject matter experts and industry thought leaders for a better understanding of how to deliver more effective online video and app strategies.

Who attends?

Developers, producers, marketing managers, C-level execs, tech firms, and agencies make up the diverse range of people that attend. The conference offers something for everyone - whether you're a large media organisation looking to develop your distribution and monetisation options for video, a brand marketer focused on increasing engagement and customer loyalty, or a developer looking to build sophisticated multi-platform apps in a more streamlined way.

PLAY 2012 is open to current Brightcove customers and partners only, but we will be making available video and live-streams of the sessions so stay tuned for more information.

What's the motivation for PLAY 2012 and what are the key areas being covered?

Delivering effective video and content experiences is no longer solely the territory of digital media companies. More and more, a whole host of different organisations are investing in video and app experiences as they look to deepen their audience reach and engagement. But with the raft of opportunities presented by multi-platform video, comes a variety of challenges and PLAY 2012 will bring together Brightcove customers, partners and those at the forefront of the digital media revolution to debate the way forward.

Our strategy, user and training tracks will explore some of the key challenges media organisations of all kinds are grappling with: the challenge of monetising and optimising video across multiple devices; how to build high-performing, engaging apps; how to market with online video; content protection and management; and social video.
